Robbery at Bengaluru Doctor’s House: Rs 70 lakh Jewellery stolen

Balasore: The city police arrested a 22-year-old man in Balasore district for allegedly stealing jewellery worth over ₹70 lakh from a Bengaluru doctor’s house, where he had been employed as a domestic help, police said on Wednesday. 

According to the PTI report, the accused was nabbed from his village in Khaira area of the district on Tuesday, they said.

The incident came to light when a jewellery shop owner at Khaira alerted the police about a man who tried to sell gold and diamond ornaments, an officer said.

According to the police, the theft came to light when the owner of a jewellery shop in Khaira informed them about a man attempting to sell gold and diamond ornaments. The shopkeeper grew suspicious when the man fled upon being questioned about the origins of the jewellery.

When the shop owner enquired more about the jewellery, he fled, raising suspicion, police said.

He was traced with the help of CCTV camera footage, the officer added.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that in a recent snatching incident, a Panchkula-based doctor lost her gold pendant to a bike-borne miscreant. The theft occurred at 8:42 a.m in Sector 10 while Dr Sikha was dropping her son off at school. As she was leaving, an unknown assailant approached on a motorcycle and snatched the pendant before fleeing the scene.
